Helping More Kids
Workflow optimization sounds fancy, doesn’t it? This is really a “techie” way of saying how can you take what you are doing now and make it better, by leveraging the fact that computers can remember really well. Every day all of us have a flow to what we do. This includes brushing our teeth. Right or wrong, many of us have a very established way we do this. It could be that your wife, brother, or 7 year old has a better way. When we say workflow optimization, we are merely looking at what transactions you have the most repetition with and looking at each and every step involved with these actions and looking at how technology can be leveraged to reduce the amount of time it takes to do the given task. In our work, it has been stunning to us how many awesome organizations that care about orphans will do to record a donation. They will put it in their accounting system, they will then re-enter into their donor database and sometimes a separate Excel spreadsheet because they don’t trust or have access to the first two systems. They sometimes have to take the bank statement and just enter the credit card payments their faithful donors have provided on a monthly basis and re-enter those every month manually instead of using any workflow optimization to download from their bank their credit card statement and have it directly import into their donor database software. From here, a data bridge can be built to their accounting software to eliminate the double or triple input. In fact, our software solution already has this bridge built.
